Book Worms

Sure the food and beer is off the chart in Portland. But the best thing to do either side of the Happy Hour is Powells Books. In the age of ebooks and limitless entertainment options, Powells is one of a kind. An independent book shop that sprawls an entire city block that is open to 11pm every night.

Legend has it they have close to 1,00,000 books across four locations. Whatever your interests and personality traits they have something on paperback that will scratch your itch. Any age, any topic.

And if you don’t have any interests or personality, there is always this one:

I am actually in danger of exceeding legal baggage limits due to the number of books I have picked up. There is also a cafe in there too so you can grab a book to browse while sipping on your decaffinated soy chai with a hint of kale infused coconut water.

And before you ask I didn’t buy the book, but I did the shirt (a Powells one, not a Sex For One shirt).

This blog started life as a series of emails with poor quality photography to family and friends whilst overseas to let them know I was still breathing.  It has since grown into it’s own little part of the internet.  A place where I ramble on about my love of travel and food.  Hopefully you find some enjoyment and inspiration out of it for future travel plans.  I have got a buzz from seeing it evolve into this flurry of pixels.

If you like what you see, subscribe below and updates will be sent straight to your inbox the next time I am travelling and/or eating.  The only spam you may get is of the food variety, but then again I don’t care for that tinned stuff anyway.
